Jaksa Penuntut Umum (JPU) menuntut tujuh terdakwa kasus ledakan kapal tanker MT Federal II di galangan kapal PT ASL Shipyard Indonesia, Batam, dengan hukuman penjara antara 1 tahun 6 bulan hingga 2 tahun 6 bulan.
JPU Muhammad Arfian membacakan tuntutan tersebut dalam sidang di Pengadilan Negeri (PN) Batam, Kamis (6/8/2026). Majelis hakim yang dipimpin Tiwik bersama Douglas RP Napitupulu dan Randi Jastian Afandi memimpin persidangan tersebut.
Jaksa menyatakan seluruh terdakwa terbukti melakukan tindak pidana karena kelalaiannya menyebabkan orang lain meninggal dunia.
Jaksa Menuntut Kim Dong Gyun dengan Hukuman Paling Ringan
Kim Dong Gyun yang menjabat sebagai Commercial Manager mendapat tuntutan paling ringan, yakni 1 tahun 6 bulan penjara. Sementara itu, enam terdakwa lainnya masing-masing menghadapi tuntutan 2 tahun 6 bulan penjara.
Keenam terdakwa tersebut terdiri atas Neo Ah Chye selaku Assistant Vice Manager, Abdullah Bin Ismail, Dranreb Ray, Mijrebel Siregar, Ricardo Parlindungan, dan Basar Samuel.
Jaksa memasukkan jumlah korban sebagai salah satu faktor yang memberatkan tuntutan. Ledakan MT Federal II pada 15 Oktober 2025 menewaskan 14 pekerja, melukai sembilan orang secara berat, serta membuat tujuh orang lainnya mengalami luka ringan.
Jaksa Mempertimbangkan Sikap Para Terdakwa Selama Persidangan
Meski menilai jumlah korban sebagai faktor pemberat, jaksa juga mempertimbangkan sejumlah keadaan yang meringankan. Para terdakwa tercatat belum pernah menjalani hukuman pidana dan menunjukkan sikap sopan selama persidangan.
Selain itu, para terdakwa mengakui serta menyesali perbuatannya. Jaksa juga menilai perkara tersebut terjadi karena kelalaian, bukan karena kesengajaan.
Para terdakwa juga telah berdamai dengan ahli waris korban dan korban yang selamat. Mereka memberikan santunan, menanggung biaya pengobatan, serta memenuhi kewajiban kepada korban dan keluarga korban.
Ledakan MT Federal II Kembali Merenggut Nyawa Pekerja
Ledakan MT Federal II terjadi di galangan PT ASL Shipyard, Tanjunguncang, Batam, Kepulauan Riau, pada Rabu (15/10/2025) sekitar pukul 04.00 WIB. Peristiwa tersebut membakar kapal tanker dan menyebabkan sejumlah pekerja menjadi korban.
Insiden itu menjadi kejadian kedua yang melibatkan kapal yang sama. Sebelumnya, kebakaran juga terjadi pada 24 Juni 2025 dan menewaskan empat orang.
Berdasarkan keterangan sejumlah saksi, pekerja saat itu melakukan pekerjaan pemotongan atau cutting di bagian dalam tangki kapal. Ketika proses berlangsung, blower yang berfungsi mengeluarkan udara dari dalam tangki tiba-tiba berhenti. Kondisi tersebut membuat asap dan uap minyak mentah tidak keluar dengan baik hingga kemudian memicu ledakan.
