beritakecelakaan.id – Pada Rabu, 22 Oktober 2025, dua bus bertabrakan di jalan raya utama Kampala-Gulu, Uganda, menewaskan 46 orang dan melukai puluhan lainnya. Kecelakaan terjadi sekitar pukul 02.00 dini hari waktu setempat.
Kronologi Kejadian
Kecelakaan bermula saat dua bus melaju berlawanan arah di jalan raya Kampala-Gulu. Kedua bus berusaha menyalip kendaraan lain secara bersamaan. Tabrakan frontal tak terhindarkan, menghancurkan bagian depan kedua bus. Akibat benturan keras, beberapa penumpang terlempar keluar dan terjepit di antara puing-puing.
Korban dan Penanganan
Menurut polisi Uganda, 46 orang tewas dalam kecelakaan ini, sementara puluhan lainnya mengalami luka-luka. Petugas kepolisian dan tim medis segera melakukan evakuasi korban ke rumah sakit terdekat. Proses evakuasi berlangsung hingga pagi hari karena banyaknya korban dan kondisi medan yang sulit.
Presiden Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, menyebut kecelakaan ini sebagai “tragedi memilukan”. Ia menyampaikan belasungkawa kepada keluarga korban dan menyerukan peningkatan kesadaran berkendara di jalan raya. Pemerintah berjanji akan melakukan evaluasi terhadap sistem transportasi umum untuk mencegah kejadian serupa di masa depan.
Evaluasi Keamanan Transportasi
Kecelakaan ini menyoroti pentingnya keselamatan transportasi di Uganda. Meskipun jalan raya utama telah diperbaiki, kecelakaan masih sering terjadi akibat perilaku sopir yang ugal-ugalan dan kurangnya pengawasan. Pemerintah diminta untuk memperketat regulasi dan meningkatkan pelatihan bagi sopir bus guna memastikan keselamatan penumpang.
Kejadian ini menjadi pelajaran bagi semua pihak untuk lebih berhati-hati dan mematuhi aturan lalu lintas demi keselamatan bersama.
